A special thanks to Keith Berry for arranging 15 workshops in the Manchester, CT. school system which unfortunately, had to be postponed due an injury Billy received to his right hand. We are so sorry Keith, but are looking forward to returning in the early spring school season.

We must thank all of our sponsors and grant givers. Please see: http://www.creativespecialprojects.com/

Especially, Rick Drumm at Vic Firth Drumstick and Carol Calato, Regal Tip Drumsticks for their generous donation of 1400 pairs of drumsticks given to the students participating in the START workshops. The sticks were a HUGE hit! Check out the photo below:

And finally...a tremendous thanks to the students for their inspiration and willingness to contribute to our program. We learn so much from you guys!

The thing that impressed us the most was the way you handled the brainstorming segment in our workshop. It was amazing to see two groups of 40-50 students simultaneously organize themselves and in just 60 seconds, formulate a musical arrangement! It proved to us once again that kids have natural talent for creativity and when given the opportunity, can and will perform flawlessly...without professional help!

Billy and Bob are Back!

Billy and Bob just returned from St. Cloud, Florida where they presented the STARTiN workshops. They performed in 4 schools presenting multiple 1-hour inter-active creative workshops for small groups of students (25-80 per class) In advance of the live performances, each school presented the STARTiN pilot DVD, START Cookin', featuring Emeril Lagasse and Doc Gibbs, in the classrooms.

Quotes from Debbie Fahmie, music specialist at Cypress Elementary in Osceola County, FL. Debbie is the President-Elect for the Florida Elementary Music Educator's Association and Past President of Phi Delta Kappa.

"Billy and Bob bring a dynamic perspective to the work music educators are doing with developing creativity in our students. They become the visiting artist that makes the learning so much more relevant and vibrant. They bring the perspective of the entertainment professional into the classroom and the students react so positively to the respect that Billy and Bob are giving to their input and ideas".

"It's a breath of fresh air to find two highly dedicated people who are willing to develop a product around the needs of the child and the educator".

"This exceptionally motivating event was a highlight for my students and inspired their thinking and creative powers".

"The whole concept is brilliant and is an important tool for music educators as well as classroom teachers".
