Billy and Bob just completed another series of START performances in the Northeast. They are continuing to present as many live shows as possible in preparation to shoot the next "START Cookin'" DVD in September 2006. The DVD will be filmed at two schools in Newington and New Britain, CT.
At this point, Billy and Bob have received approximately 2000 letters from students who attended the live show and viewed in their classrooms the START Cookin' DVD featuring Emeril Lagasse and Doc Gibbs.
Many thanks to the following educators, principles and volunteers who welcomed us into their schools and made this tour possible:
Martin-Kellogg Middle School, Newington, CT- Jeff Schumann and George Stevens
John Paterson School, Newington, CT- Scott Detrick and Jamie Nodell
Mary E. Griswold School, Kensington, CT- Laurie Gjerpen, Michelle and Wendy Paul
Additional thanks for the wonderful letters from our hosts. Please see below:
A special thanks to Keith Berry for arranging 15 workshops in the Manchester, CT. school system which unfortunately, had to be postponed due an injury Billy received to his right hand. We are so sorry Keith, but are looking forward to returning in the early spring school season.
We must thank all of our sponsors and grant givers. Please see: http://www.creativespecialprojects.com/
Especially, Rick Drumm at Vic Firth Drumstick and Carol Calato, Regal Tip Drumsticks for their generous donation of 1400 pairs of drumsticks given to the students participating in the START workshops. The sticks were a HUGE hit! Check out the photo below:

And finally...a tremendous thanks to the students for their inspiration and willingness to contribute to our program. We learn so much from you guys!
The thing that impressed us the most was the way you handled the brainstorming segment in our workshop. It was amazing to see two groups of 40-50 students simultaneously organize themselves and in just 60 seconds, formulate a musical arrangement! It proved to us once again that kids have natural talent for creativity and when given the opportunity, can and will perform flawlessly...without professional help!
